Goalball occurs as team sport designed for blind athletes. It was devised by an Austrian, Hanz Lorenzen, and the German, Sepp Reindle, in 1946 in an effort to help in the rehabilitation of visually impaired World War II veterans.

a sport evolved into a competitory game across the next couple of decades & was a demonstration event at the 1976 Paralympics in Toronto. A sports 1st championship was held within 1978 and in 1980 goalball became a a portion of the Paralympics.

Participants compete around teams of triplet, & try to throw a ball that has bells embedded around it, into the opponents' goal. It must utilize a healthy of a bell to judge the position & movement of the ball. Games consist of 2 10 microscopic halves. Blindfolds allow partially sighted & sighted players to compete in an equal footing.

Court and equipment

Players
